1941 BALTI (Moldova) News Article: “Bloody Sunday”

The article, “Romanian police in Balti acting ruthlessly against the Jewish population”, describes the attacks on the Jewish neighborhoods. The article notes that the last of the Balti Jewish community were photographed by the SS Captain Prastio, an hour prior to their murder: Schumer (Itamar) Tsiterman Joseph Broytman, Sasha Diagot, Isaac Shechtman, Shmerl Shoikhet, Bureh Blank, Suher (Issaskhar) Roitman, Simon Greenberg, Abraham Krips, Leibish Holovaty, Jacob Tenenboym. Bernard Walter, a prominent public figure in Balti, was saved at the last minute by a Romanian officer.


The Russian article continues the description of the Holocaust in Balti.
