MOSCOW: Buried in the Novodevichy Cemetery (More)


The Russian language version of Wikipedia has an alphabetical listing of those who are buried (Jews and Non-Jews) in the Novodevichy Cemetery. The site offers some biographical information as well as some images, if you click on the names.

  1. How interesting - thanks to this post, I've learned that Emil Gilels was Jewish - and though buried in Moscow, was born in Odessa. Gilels was one of the great pianists of the 20th century - with an amazing sensitivity to his playing.
