AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU MUSEUM: A NEWLY ACQUIRED JOURNAL

A diary, created by three former Polish prisoners, was donated to the Auschwitz-Birkenau museum in Warsaw by the widow of a U.S. soldier, Clifford Hensel, who took part in the liberation of the Mauthausen death camp. The journal was written and illustrated by the prisoners and includes poetry and watercolor drawings of the death camp. Further information and a watercolor sketch from the memoir can be found at  http://www.artdaily.org/index.asp?int_sec=11&int_new=62917#.UatcSuvbYyJ
