1917 JEWS OF THE FIRST MERCHANTS GUILD: ROSTOV-ON-DON

In his book, “Jews from Rostov-On-Don: History. Facts. Biography”, Mr. M.A. Gontmakher notes that the publication of the First Merchant guild list for 1917 was 41% Jewish merchants. In addition to the merchants’ names, the list also includes the names of spouses, children, and other family members, and their ages, as well as many of the trade categories.
