KIELCE AND THE HOLOCAUST

KIELCE AND THE HOLOCAUST
“THE MARTYRDOM & EXTERMINATION OF THE JEWS IN KIELCE DURING WORLD WAR II”
(Krzysztof Urbanski, 2005)

This historical perspective of wartime in Kielce is in English, translated from the original Polish.

According to the introduction: “This book refers to the hardest period of time concerning Jews from Kielce, the time of the War and occupation, when Germans murdered most of Jews with full premeditation and intent, and appropriated their belongings…As the invaders way of treatment in relation to Polish people was very severe, the help was not realized in the extent that would provide for the Jewish people’s needs…Poland was the only occupied country in Europe where any sign of help for Jews was punished with death… It was not an empty threat.”

The names of some survivors of the war and occupation appear on pages 164-166

The following appear as annexes to the body of work:

Annex 1: 1918-1939 Kielce Jewish associations-pp. 169-171
