Pages 46-52: An alphabetical list of 198 Giesseners who emigrated to Palestine. It includes the names of Jews who were residents in Giessen and the surrounding area who were born in Giessen, worked, studied, & taught there. It includes all the names that could be found up to 1980.

Column 1: Names at the time of exiting Germany. Those that had no information in Column 6 did not live in Giessen from 1933 onwards.

Column 2: Names changed by marriage or Hebraized versions.

Column 3: The years to 1932 are those of emigration to Palestine. From 1933, are years relevant to persecution-related escape. Few persons returned to Giessen or Europe after emigrating to Palestine. Those that left and returned to Palestine were victims of persecution; for them the first immigration year is specified.

Column 4: The crossed zero sign represents documented death; the “:-“ represents migration from Palestine or Israel.

Column 5: Residences are noted only for the living at the time. In some cases the location could not be determined.
