In 1914 he was drafted into a regiment of the former Austrian army. After the fall of Przemysl in 1915, he disappeared. Proceedings were implemented to declare him dead. The court has been repeatedly requested to decide on the declaration of death.

Despite an obvious typo & the rabbi's certification that Jews did not have the name, "Puda", Rudkov was declared as an evader & the family was fined. The decision was appealed & the fine was cancelled....

KURITSKY, Leyzer-Itsyk Girsh-Leibov had died but was included in the draft list because his father, not being informed that his late son was being called up for military service, had not submitted a metrical death certificate. The father's residence was discovered after the recruitment notice, when the deceased was included in the evader list, & the father was fined....
