BABI YAR/BABIN YAR: THE EXECUTED

BABI YAR/BABIN YAR

LIST:
An alphabetical list of those who were executed in Babi Yar by the Nazis can be found on a Russian language site beginning at:
The materials are based on the “Pam’yat Babyn Yar” Fond (**Ilya M. Levitas, President of the Jewish Council of Ukraine). The extensive list includes (Jews and non-Jews) surnames, some first & middle names, ages, a few addresses. Please visit the site for a complete list.

There are language buttons for English, Russian, and Ukrainian. I didn’t find that the English button worked for translating all of the subjects that are available, at least on my computer.  Google Chrome automatic translator seemed to do the trick, though.

A few of the names on the lists are out of  (English) alphabetical order:
ex. Amdur Boris Izrailevich-5, Amdur Jan Izrailevich-5  and Trahtvur Joseph-2, are on list “Vah-Wal”.

**In a Russian language article, "Яр и холод/Yar I kholod", by Andrew Archangel, it is noted that Mr. Levitas spent 40 years of his life creating a list of those killed.  He states that Mr. Levitas' third book of memory contains 18,000 names: “…Family of 8-10 people: the elderly, women, children (least of all the young men-they went to the front.). The oldest of the executed—111 years old, the youngest—a few days…the names, as if you read the Old Testament  or Babel… Chava, Rokhly, Mine/Minnie and Miles/Mili, Broch/Brokhe, Leyba, Feiga, Golda, Dvoira, Sheyndlya, Tably, Sosly, Itskhoki, Ently, Yasha—Abarbanel, Zauermilh, Ayzenvarg, Akselrud, Barbirer, Bluvshtejn, Bronfayn, Bukgalter…” http://www.ogoniok.com/4963/14/
