 The school was founded in 1918 by a group of Chelm residents, then held responsible to the Jewish community.

Rozy Szperowej Boys Gymnasium (12 Zamojska)
The school was founded in 1916 by Simon Szpera, the first school for Jewish youth in the province of Lublin.  After his death in 1919, the school passed to his widow, Roze Szperowa.  The directors were: Szper Szymon, Finkelkraut Henryk, Hulewicz Boleslaw.
